If the outcome you generate through work is linearly dependent on effort (meaning, effort x leads to outcome y, effort 2x leads to outcome 2y, and so on), you have room to improve.
No matter what job you do.
The mindset that more work equates with better outcome is so industrial age.
Unfortunately, many managers and organisations in established industries still believe in it. The hustle culture of start-ups does not help either.
In the knowledge age, progress comes NOT from always being busy and doing more work (bots can do it). It comes from our ability to pause, reflect, connect the dots, strategize, and then act.
Time we start being Humans, again. Machines have anyways started to do the boring, monotonous, and repeatable work.
