The Productivity Paranoia.
As per a recent Microsoft Work Trends Index Special Report published in Sept:
"There is a stark disconnect between the portion of leaders who say they have full confidence their team is productive (12%) and the portion of employees who report they are productive at work (87%)"
No one to blame here.
Managers miss the visual cues of 'work' they used to get while walking the floor back in the days and are worried people are not working enough.
Employees, on the other hand, are working harder just to be visible and prove that they are working.
This trust deficit is the new reality of remote and hybrid work.
It's here to stay unless we all change our ways.
