Because you think someone or something is holding you back.
I have two pieces of advice to get you going:
1. Don't bother breaking the old. Focus on building the new.
We are too scared to break what is working today, even if imperfectly, to place bets on a better tomorrow - till we get a glimpse of it. Lead the way and show them the trailer.
2. Don't ask for permission. Instead, be prepared to ask for forgiveness.
Most of what we think is such big a deal that it requires someone's permission, isn't actually so. No one cares much - till something really breaks. Go experiment.
There is something called 'status-quo bias'. Use it to your advantage.
