I have worked on many business problems. But there is one that makes me scratch my head in helplessness every time I encounter it:
When in response to an email, I receive a cryptic out of office message that does not tell me:
1. When the person would be back
2. Who to reach out to in their absence, or
3. How to contact them, just in case something critical comes up
These are basic hygiene factors.
Including them in your out-of-office message indicates that you take your job - and the accountability that comes with it - seriously.
It also indicates that you take your vacation time equally seriously and hence sharing details proactively to avoid unnecessary intrusions from work.
View from the other side:
If you think it's ok for you to simply turn on your automatic reply without any of these details, you are signalling to your employer that your job is dispensible. Don't blame them for assuming that the business can run smoothly without you, forever.
This is the season of annual leaves for many, hence sharing this in public interest.
