Strategy & Execution

The 20:60:20 rule for a project

The rule of 20:60:20 for top performers.

For any new project/task, you should spend time and effort roughly in this proportion:

👉 20% on clarifying and articulating the objective, scope, timelines and approach

👉 60% on executing key activities related to the task in a focused manner

👉 20% on socializing with key stakeholders, seeking feedback, and refining

Performance is first and foremost about following a disciplined process, and only then about hard work and intelligence.
