Strategy & Execution

Three ways strategy discussions derail

Three patterns I’ve seen that derail even the most well-intentioned strategy discussions:

📌Solving the wrong problem – is often like treating the symptoms, not the disease.

When answers are cheap (in the AI era), asking the right questions is a super power.

📌Jumping to the ‘how’ too soon – execution without alignment is chaos.

It creates a sense of busy-ness, but has no impact on the bottomline of your business.

📌Mistaking participation for commitment – all nodding heads are not equal.

If someone does not have a skin in the game, their participation means nothing. Choose wisely who is invited to the discussion table.

Spot these early, and you save months of wasted effort.

What’s the most common derailer you’ve seen?
