On a large transformation project, our client sponsor was brilliant — and endlessly energetic. Every meeting ended with several new ideas and a long list of ‘must-do’ items.
By week three, we were at risk of losing both our sanity and our project scope.
That’s when we came up with a simple filter to screen ideas: ICE
👍Impact → Will it meaningfully move the needle?
👍Clarity → Can we see the path and make visible progress quickly?
👍Energy → Do we have the conviction and capacity to see it through?
If it doesn’t score well on all three, it’s not a priority — it’s a distraction.
