A daily wage earner was unhappy with his life. His job was to hammer and break stones. He had done this for years. Everyday. Morning to evening. Earning barely enough to keep his body and soul together.
He wanted to break free. Didn't know how.
God took pity.
He appeared before the stone-breaker one day and blessed him with a special power - he could now turn himself into any of God's creations at his wish.
Just as this exchange was taking place, a sudden spell of rain drenched both the stone-breaker and the God.
The stone breaker looked up at the clouds and marveled at how playfully they were floating around. He craved their freedom and turned himself into a cloud.
He joyfully floated as a cloud for a while but soon realised that the clouds were at the mercy of the wind. The wind would push and kick them around without their wish. Fascinated by its power, the stone-breaker turned himself into the wind.
He enjoyed blowing uninterrupted as wind - sometime gently, at times swiftly - till he ran into a huge mountain. The mountain would interrupt the wind's flow and force it to change its course. The stone-breaker fell in awe of the mountain's size and strength; he wished to become one.
He enjoyed the magnificence of being a mountain for a few days but soon got bored of staying static in one place. To make matters worse, one day a stone-breaker came and started chipping at the mountain's foot; the mountain could do absolutely nothing about it.
The mountain reminisced fondly about his own days as a simple stone breaker and went back to being one.

Grandma's morale from the story: everyone has their own place in the universe and own journey. Be happy and content with where you are.
Modern take on the story: If you are on LinkedIn, you are more blessed than a stone-breaker. Use your blessings to explore and experience. Even if you finally decide to come back to being your past self. There is fun in the journey.
