Thank you for this thoughtful gesture, XLRI PGDM (GM).
It was great to share my views on the topic. I learnt as much from my esteemed co-panelists as from intelligent questions from the audience.
Highlights of my message:
1. AI is not just another technology trend; it's a foundational force - similar to what internet was a quarter century back - and it has already begun to transform business, society, and governance in fundamental ways.
2. Technology in general, and AI in particular, is changing the landscape of management consulting. The value that clients expect from consultants, offerings and services, consulting delivery models, and underlying economics of consulting firms - all are undergoing significant shifts.
3. In a business landscape ever being disrupted by technology, clients expect management consultants not just to unilaterally recommend new solutions and use cases, but to co-innovate the future with them. Clients increasingly prefer to put their trust in firms that have strong technology capabilities which can be leveraged to deliver #getthefutureyouwant to the clients.
4. The risks and questions related to bias, ethics, etc for AI are real and they must be addressed. However, there are enough safe use cases of AI under production across industries that are already unlocking significant value, at scale.
5. Recent advances in generative AI is going to shake up a lot of cognitive and creative work, consulting included. Time to keep a close watch and evolve the business model further
