Among all the real life applications of GPT-4, I am most excited by its use in education - kinda what the non-profit Khan Academy is doing to personalize learning.
The transformative potential of technology in education is HUGE.
Quality education at scale is the greatest leveller of inequality and a long term cure for much of what is wrong with our society today.
Unfortunately, many of the '#edtechs' that started with the pious promise of leveraging technology to take quality education to the masses have been plagued by 'too much' of commercial orientation. They don't show much promise of solving the education challenge that the world is facing today.
I am rooting for the likes of Khan Academy.
Also, I sincerely hope the Government of India makes 'inclusive education' one of the pillars of digital infrastructure it has been silently and steadily creating. Education in the country needs to undergo the same revolution as payments. There is no better time than now to do it.
