The other day my e-commerce delivery person flashed the same phone that I use.
It occurred to me that, in all likelihood, the billionaires of the world also use the same phone.
And why only phone? They also use the same apps.
They get treated by the same medicines when they fall sick.
They have access to the same news, knowledge, and information that the rest of us have.
Technology is a great leveller.
For most parts, it does not differentiate and discriminate.

Pause for a moment to realise that this was not always the case in human history.
Even a 50 years back, you could differentiate between a well off and less well off person just by the clothing they had on them. Not any more.
The level of access to things, privileges, places, knowledge, and opportunities was highly differentiated depending upon who you were or where you lived.

Back to today:
In a world that is increasingly democratizing opportunities and material well being, what will be the ultimate status symbol?
I guess it’s three things:
1. Physical health
2. Ability to live as per your values system
3. Ability to keep your inner calm intact
