The experience corporate India overlooks

A question for corporate India.

This past week, like most Indians, I prayed silently for the safe return of our #braveheart #pilot.

Wg. Cdr. #Abhinandan displayed the courage, confidence, intelligence, responsibility, determination, and stamina that soldiers are trained for.

Thanks to the not-so-palpable #videos circulated on the social media, we got to experience first hand, sitting in our comfortable confines, the stuff that our #soldiers are made of.

I spent 7 years in a #boarding #military school. Have many friends in #uniform. If faced with a similar situation, each one of them would likely do exactly what Abhinandan did.

You get into the armed forces only if you have 'it' in you. You get trained to develop formidable #strength - of #mind, #body, and #character. Life thereafter - in peace and in war - is a rigorous drill, every single day.

As a soldier, you don't get to trumpet your battle stories of #bravery on social media. You continue to be a faceless hero for the rest of the country - unless the enemy nation circulates a video of your bravery and fortitude!

Question: when will #corporate India learn to value the #experience of our soldiers? What jobs and programs we have for our veterans?
