No matter what your role is, whether you are an intern or a CEO, your day to day work must entail a healthy mix of:
1. Content: that requires you to apply your own faculties and create something from scratch. It could be a memo, model, code, presentation, or even a mental model on a piece of napkin.
2. Communicate: explain and exchange ideas, listen, speak, present, review, or anything else where you engage with others on something that is important.
Too many early career professionals are so busy creating that they don't focus enough on learning how to communicate.
Too many senior folks are so busy communicating that they rarely have time to create.
Both are unhealthy and career limiting.
