Thinking & Judgment

Listening for what is not said

Language is the tool to make sense of what's said.

But language has its limits.

And not all that is worth knowing is ever spoken or written about.

What we hear and read is just the tip of the iceberg.

The real stuff - perhaps 90% of the whole - is submerged deep within.

It's the unsaid and the unspoken that must be understood to get closer to the truth.

This real stuff - the 90% - can be accessed only with loads of empathy, a keen sense of observation, a heavy dose of humility, and a lifetime worth of practice.
