As a habit, I put on google maps during my office commutes. Despite the fact that I have known this city for close to two decades.
I know all possible combinations of routes between my home and office like the back of my hand.
What I don't know though is how the traffic conditions on these routes are on a day to day basis.
This is where Google comes handy.
It guides me on which route to take. Midway through the trip if things change, it suggests a better route.
I may or may not follow Google’s suggestions. But I know for sure that my decision making is much better with its inputs than without it.
Good mentors and coaches play a similar role in life. They help you see the landscape better than you can see yourself. Then they leave you to make choices that align with your own preferences.
