I had a heart-warming exchange with an ex team member in the office this past week.The glitter in the eyes, the spring in the feet, and the joy in their voice was unmissable and almost infectious.
Back story: have known this person (say X) as a smart and motivated professional for several years. But about six months back, X was down in the doldrums, struggling to cope up at work and unsure of what to do. I recall him telling me - "Avinash, I was hoping to move mountains but am unable to push even a pebble"
So, what had changed in the last six months?
Answer: The team.
Based on advice from a mentor, X leveraged the network to find another role within the organisation.
Completely in love with this new role and in awe of the new team, X seems to have found their mojo back.

Sometimes, when you are trying your best and still unable to move your mountain, take a pause and entertain the idea that maybe it's not about you.
Perhaps all you need is to move on and try your hands on a different mountain.
